In the Yo-kai Watch games, all Yo-kai will have an attitude. These attitudes can affect what the Yo-kai will do each turn they move and their stats when they level up. However, some Yo-kai can't have a specific attitude because of what they are. For example, Jibanyan can't have the Gentle or Tender attitudes because he does not have a Restoration-attribute Technique. He also can't have the Helpful or Devoted attitudes because his Inspirit targets enemies.

List of attitudes

Most likely to guard more

There is another type of attitude determining if your Yo-kai would Loaf or not. This is shown before the attitudes you see above. For example, Jibanyan can be Grouchy or Rough. However, for some reason, Yo-kai Watch and Yo-Kai Watch 2 have different ways of determining this. They are:

Yo-kai Watch

Attitude Effect
Serious Loafs very rarely in battle
Stiff Loafs rarely in battle
Carefree Loafs easily in battle
Loafer Loafs very easily in battle

Yo-kai Watch 2

Attitude: Effect:
Very Serious Slacks very rarely
Serious Slacks rarely
Docile Normal
Selfish Slacks easily
Careless Slacks more easily
Very Careless Slacks very easily

As mentioned in the beginning, some Yo-kai can not have some specific attitudes. Some yo-kai can't have some attitudes that change how likely your Yo-kai can slack. For Rank D and E Yo-kai, they can get to Very Serious. For B and C Rank they can get to Serious. But A and S Rank Yo-kai can only get to Docile.

Items to change attitudes

Yo-kai Watch has books that can change the attitudes of your yo-kai. They are sold in the book store at Flower Road at Shoppers Row. They are:

Trivia

  • Timidevil/Beelzebold is the only Yo-kai that can never be Very serious, Serious or Docile due to his skill
    • As shown by the above, some Yo-kai have skills that will never make them slack or everyone to not slack, making the attitudes to control how they slack to be somewhat useless.
  • There is a glitch in the game where you can get a Shadow Venoct with a Logical or Brainy even though he is a Restoration-attribute Yo-kai. However, it is highly recommended to keep this attitude since it will give him a huge boost in Spirit or both Spirit and Speed.
    • Likewise there is a similar glitch with Frostail allowing them to be Cruel or Twisted which is great to help increase Speed or in Speed and Strength.
