Hapyon Detective Agency: Case No. 4: Gloomy Yo-kai Mystery (Japanese: イナウサ不思議探偵社　CASE4 地味系妖怪連続殺人事件, InaUsa Fushigi Tanteisha CASE4 Jimikei Yōkai Renzoku Satsujin Jiken), Momonyan and His Three Attendants (Japanese: モモタロニャンと三匹のお供, Momotaronyan to Sanbiki no Otomo), and The Classic Yo-kai Halloween (Japanese: 古典妖怪ハロウィンパーティー！, Koten Yōkai Harowin Pātī!) is the 93rd episode of the Yo-kai Watch anime series. It was broadcasted in Japan on October 30, 2015 and the A-Part & C-Part was be broadcasted in the United States on October 6, 2018. The second segment was skipped in the English dub.

Summary[]

Drizzelda comes to the Hapyon Detective Agency to ask Hailey and Usapyon to invesigate a series of Yo-kai's taken souls. Later in the evening, Nate notices that his friends are dressed up as Yo-kai for this year's theme and find some actual Classic Yo-kai lurking around.

Momonyan and His Three Attendants[]

On Halloween, Nate and Whisper notices that Springdale is covered in Halloween decorations and meets up with Jibanyan in his Next HarMEOWny gear, so he could visit the Halloween concert of that group. Suddenly, a Yo-kai jumps onto Jibanyan, where they mistaken him as Momonyan and introduces himself as Puppynyan, one of Momonyan's attendants. Another Yo-kai named Chimpanyan lands onto Jibanyan, again mistakening him for Momonyan, while Whisper and Nate question if they are really cat Yo-kai or that of a dog or monkey.

While Nate and Whisper notice that a dog and a monkey are seen together, Nate wonders if it resembles that of a certain folktale. After Pheasanyan flies onto Jibanyan's head, Nate and Whisper notice that the esemble of Yo-kai are just like in the Momotaro folktale. The trio guides Jibanyan to defeat some oni Yo-kai, but later on they realize that Jibanyan isn't Momonyan and apologizes to him. The trio explains about what Momonyan was like before his eventual separation, where the trio fled during their battle with Gargaros, Gilgaros and Orcanos.

Chimpanyan feels depressed about not having any food to eat, but Puppnyan notices a scent coming from Jibanyan's haramaki where he shows them a Chocobar. The trio suddenly ask Jibanyan to give them one of his Chocobars in an elaborate manner, where he gives one of each to the others and all suddenly like the taste of it. While they enjoy eating the Chocobars, Jibanyan asks why he was mistakened for Momonyan where Nate points out that the happi in his Next HarMEOWny getup may have been the cause.

Jibanyan is suddenly reminded of his outfit and tries to rush to the concert on time, where the trio ends up following Jibanyan all the way to the concert. Nate wonders the cause for it, Whisper theorizes that Puppynyan, Chimpanyan and Pheasanyan have become his servants after giving them food to eat. Jibanyan and the trio unexpectedly end up having fun at the Next HarMEOWny concert, and they grow to like his new master, going anywhere and doing what Jibanyan says.

Some time later, Nate and Whisper notice that the trio have been acting too much like Jibanyan, by acting lazy and eating Chocobars while watching television shows. Chimpanyan starts prefer his new master Jibanyan over Momonyan, where Puppnyan further agrees with it saying that he worked them too hard. Their mind brings to a sudden realization in the show they're watching about a fighter who would do anything to protect their friends, and all imagine not being there for Momonyan in the middle of a fight.

They all decide to go against Jibanyan's habits and find the real Momonyan, who suddenly show up on the street of Nate's house. Nate and Whisper are happy at the sudden reunion, but Momonyan suddenly rejects his offer to join and fight against the oni Yo-kai because he had found some new, stronger servants who are Rubeus J and Mighty Dog. Momonyan thanks Nate for taking care of his old servants by giving him his Yo-kai Medal, and goes off to fight oni with his new attendants.

After Jibanyan wakes up from his nap, Pheasanyan attempts to try and form a group with Jibanyan to fight off oni but he rejects the offer. Puppynyan decides to take the place instead, revealing that his ears was a hat all along, but he gives the hat to Jibanyan while Chimpanyan takes his ears off and Pheasanyan removes his beak, putting them all on Jibanyan so he could be all three Yo-kai at once. Jibanyan angrily rejects the offer in the middle of the argument, while Nate and Whisper watch them awkwardly.

This episode's alternative dub aired in South Africa on July 7, 2019, listed under the title "Momonyan And His Three Sidekicks", representing the second segment. Unlike its American counterpart, the episode was dubbed in full.
Due to the "Momonyan & His Three Attendants" segment being skipped, its Recap segment was substituted by EP106's Recap.
The title of the first segment is incorrectly called "Why The Long Face?" on Amazon Instant Video.
This is the first time that the other Oni Yo-kai, Ogralus and Orcanos, make an appearance.

Dub differences[]

As usual, Usapyon's Invader Mode was censored. Although Hailey Anne is actually shown talking before she gets hit with Usapyon's laser gun.

Errors[]

Whisper's arms are drawn short in the scenes Nate and Whisper question if Puppnyan, Chimpanyan and Pheasanyan, are really cat Yo-kai.
