Yo-kai Medallium biography
Yo-kai Medallium
A butler who serves the Bundory Family. He was Catleen's butler, even before she became a Yo-kai. He is easily moved to tears when observing how Dandory and the others have grown.

Gustaf (Japanese: グスタフ Gusutafu) is a Rank A, Water-attribute, Rare Yo-kai of the Eerie tribe.

He is considered a member of the Bundory Family, being their butler.

In Yo-kai Watch Busters 2 he is one of the Yo-kai required to unlock Elder Bloom.

In Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble, he is a Rank S Yo-kai.

Appearances[]

Biology[]

Gustaf is a Skeleton Yo-kai.

Two yellow lights acting as eyes can be seen inside of his eye sockets, from which tears are constantly flowing. His head is completely detached from his body, with a light yellow wisp emerging from his neck instead.

He wears a black top hat with a red hat band, and on top of that, he carries around a pink cup and tea pot.

His body wears a black tuxedo with long coat tails, a red bow tie, and white gloves.

Gustaf is shown to be a very hard-working butler, who does everything he can to serve the Bundory Family, caring greatly about each member. He is also very emotional, often crying because of how moved he is, due to the children's growth.

In the past, Gustaf was already the butler of Catleen, back when she was still a human princess, with him presumably having been human, too. Even after the king released the Yo-kai Kanaendesu and destroyed the kingdom, Gustaf continued to serve Catleen, aiding her in her quest to stop the tragedy from repeating itself.

Profile[]

Yo-kai Watch Busters 2[]

Gustaf appears in the game, aiding the Bundory Family as they fight with the Blasters over the treasures of Karakuri Island.

His first appearance is during Chapter 2, where the Bundory Family steals their wind-up key that is required to enter a new dungeon, commenting on Dandory's interpretation of Gowin's pun.

He is seen again during Chapter 9, looking for the rest of the family, before being found by the Blasters and Tanto. He ends up explaining Catleen's past to them, and asks the Blasters to help looking for the other family members.

Like most of the family, he can be befriended in Chapter 11, the post-game, once he becomes an available opponent in the "Wandering Arena" (Japanese: さすらい闘技場 Sasurai Tōgiba).

Etymology[]

"Gustaf" is derived from the onomatopoeia "gusu gusu" (Japanese: グスグス the sound of gushing tears) and possibly "Staff" (Japanese: スタッフ Sutaffu), in reference to his status as a butler. It may also be a pun on Gustav.

Trivia[]

  • Gustaf is the only Bundory Family member not to resemble a feline type Yo-kai.
  • The translation of the Bundory Family in Spanish is "Familia Feliante".
