Papa Bolt (Japanese: 雷オトン Rai Oton) is a Rank A Lightning-attribute Yo-kai of the Heartful tribe.

Appearance

Papa Bolt is a humanoid Yo-kai with reddish tan skin, tied spiky dark red hair, and a beard and unibrow of the same color. He wears a blue turquoise sleeveless kimono held by a dull red obi and beige white Roman wristbands. His legs are replaced by a single dull blue cloud, and a large beige white rope arch coiled in three is set behind his back.

Papa Bolt is said to be short tempered and grumpy, known for acting like a grumpy old man.

Papa Bolt can be found at Mt. Wildwood Summit. He also appears past 8000 Metres in the infinite tunnel, found with Mama Aura as well as being freed from the Crank-a-kai with a Green coin

Etymology

"Rai Oton" translates to "Thunder Pa"

Origin

Papa Bolt's concept appears to be based on the idiom kaminari oyaji (雷親父, "lightning pops", or perhaps more correctly "thunderous pops"), which is used to describe a strict, ornery father that strikes fear into his offspring.
