Whenever Pookivil inspirit someone, they turn the person into a wicked schemer and/or prankster, using their better qualities such as a cute exterior, for dark purposes.
Pookivil's skill and characteristics, coupled with its appearance, might be a subtle reference to the shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, whose overly stringent animal protection laws caused Edo (ancient name of Tokyo) to be overrun with stray and disease-ridden dogs. This earned him the despise of his subjects, who would insultingly call him Inu-Kubou ("Dog Shogun").
"Satandre" is a portemanteau of "Satan" and "tendre" (tender, loving)
"Schnuckiwatz" consits of the word schnucki meaning darling.
"Pufimaloso" is a combination of Pufi (the diminutive of "Puf" the onomatopoeia of something that falls, in this case in tenderness) and "Maloso" (bad).
