Drenchetta makes her debut in Yo-kai Drenchetta where she is making Nate's classmates feel depressed or left out. It is revealed she was once a human like Dismarelda, having a similar backstory to her.
Etymology[]
Her Japanese name "Shimeppoina" is derived from "shimeppoi" (Japanese: 湿っぽい) which can be translated with different meanings, "damp" and "moody", referencing her ability to dampen anyone's mood.
Her English name "Drenchetta" combines the word "Drench" and the ending suffix "Etta" used in female given names.
Her Spanish name "Tristeresa" combines "Tristeza" (Sadness) and the name "Teresa"

- Drenchetta's color scheme is somewhat based on a Slimer from the Ghostbusters franchise.
- Drenchetta's Soultimate is named "Wet Blanket" in Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble, but it renamed to "Super Gloomy Story" in Yo-kai Watch Blasters.
